So, every time that I say that I'm going to do better at writing it's like six more months before I post again...this blog thing is harder than I thought. So now Aiden is almost 17 months old. He is just growing like a little weed and as cute as ever. He is always into things, but I guess boys will be boys =D

He has started saying a lot of words...today I was getting ready and he came into the "dressing room" aka the hallway with a sink, and he looked up at me and said "happy". It was the first time he's ever said it and it made me melt. What a little charmer!

Today while we've been at work we've been out and about and one of our stops was to the park to play and take a few pictures. Aiden had a blast on the playground. He is such a brave and independent little man. He climbed right up the jungle gym and literally flew down the slide...he caught himself at the end and as I was catching my breath he looked up at me with a HUGE smile and started back around to go up the steps. He also loved swinging on the big boy swings for the first time and using the little diggers in the sand. He was so tickled when I said "scoop, and dump" I guess boys of all ages giggle at he word dump ;D of course if you know us you may know that we rarely get the things done that we wanted, so I didn't get a single picture taken of him, but that is just fine we had a blast and that's all that mattered.

Let's try this again...

Hi, So it's been roughly ten months since I last posted, but I feel like the craziness has passed (for the most part) and I can try and start this up again. Lots of things have changed, well, first off Aiden was born...May 18, 2009...He is now a VERY active almost ten month old. He is clapping, babbling, and drinking from a straw. Crawling is his main means of transportation (besides mommies arms of course!), he enjoys shredding any piece of paper that he can get his hands on (and might I add that he's very efficient with his shredding techniques), he loves to flip through pages of books and be read to, he enjoys feeding himself, and in my opinion the cutest thing of all is his ability of giving high fives. He is the light of my life and I'm not quite sure what I would do without him now that he's here. So, that's a quick synopsis of what you missed over the past ten months, now on to this past weekend. We had a long weekend, it started Thursday evening...(yay!) so Friday was a "get all your chores done day, so you can play on Saturday" day. So Friday was pretty boring, but Saturday we woke up and decided since we had nothing better to do we would go to the St. Patrick's Day parade in downtown Raleigh. After showing up 30 minutes late because we couldn't find anywhere to legally park we found a good spot to watch the parade. At first Aiden didn't have a clue as to what was going on, but once the marching bands made it past us he couldn't take his eyes off the people. He loved all of the people who were screaming and tooting their horns. The old men in the tiny semi trucks did a cool little thing right in front of us and they really captured his attention! He also got really close to petting a horse! All in all he had a great time, and it was worth the annoying streets of downtown. The weather was great so we didn't stop our fun their, we went home and grabbed a quick lunch and then headed straight to Shelley Lake to play on the playground. He loved the swings and was laughing and talking the whole time. He also liked when mommy got brave and went down the slide with him on her lap. He looked so cute with his hair flying up in the air! Then we did a little shopping at our second home Target (=D) and then went to meet Aiden's Auntie G, her friends, and his Grandma for dinner at Red Lobster in honor of Geena's (Auntie G) 14th birthday. He was really good and eat a decent amount of the cheese biscuits, and some potato and rice.

All in all we had a really great day!

Swinging!

At Red Lobster, he was holding the crab leg really nicely and then when I
took the picture, this is what he looked like! You get the point though!

Another Week

It's been another week, Aiden is doing well and being very patient with me and my crazy life. It seems like I've been rushing around non-stop doing this and that, trying to get things ready and just get all of life's day to day tasks accomplished. I just hope he remains to be patient when he comes.
According to my last doctors appointment everything is going well. They've made me start doing kick counts everyday, which he has no problem with moving ten times in an hour =D so basically I just keep going back every week. The doctor did have a little trouble finding his heart beat, but before you get worried it was partially because he was rolling around trying to get away from the pressure she was putting on him, and because she seemed like she was struggling that day. He has a very strong heartbeat and is growing right on schedule.
My bags are packed and everyone is just holding their breath now until I say it's go time. I really think we should start a baby pool like Zach did in Saved By the Bell. I think we could generate a lot of money. Everyone has their predictions, but only little Aiden knows when he's ready to make his appearance. Personally I'm content with his timing, unless he takes too long that is =D I'm just ready for my bundle of joy to be in my arms and to start our life as a team.
My next appointment is Tuesday the 5th. I will let everyone know how things turn out. Until then, I'll just enjoy my braxton hicks and crunching ice.

The Beginning

Hi everyone,
This is my attempt to keep everyone in the loop in regard to my life. Since Aiden's almost here I figured that starting now would be a smart idea because we all know that I won't have the energy to start it once he gets here.

Today I go to the doctor to start the run of weekly appointments. He's due in four more weeks, and I can't wait. He's always moving and kicking. I like to call it dancing. I think he's getting more and more aggravated with me since his dance floor seems to be more and more crowded by the day.

This past weekend Aiden completed his first 5k run/walk. Of course we walked, but he did really well despite the 90 something degree weather. I think this will be something that we continue to do in the future. I hope he enjoys walking with me and eventually walking himself and if his grandpa has anything to do with it he'll be running it before he's five.
